Tony Callas opened a one-bay shop on Crenshaw Blvd in Torrance, CA in 1992. Callas Rennsport was the fulfillment of Tony’s personal dream to have his own business by 30 years old. By that time, Tony had decades of experience including factory training and working for independent shops. He grew up in his father’s road and racing Porsche shop in Sealy, TX, showing an affinity and understanding for Porsches at a young age. Tony’s experiences taught him that having the technical knowledge and delivering the highest quality workmanship and materials provides the best value for his customers, this passion for excellence has never changed.
It did not take long for Tony to build a loyal customer base that continued to grow simply by positive word of mouth referrals. By 1993 Callas Rennsport had employees and had outgrown the one bay shop. Tony moved the shop to our current location on Hawthorne Blvd. in Torrance where the expansion continues.
Callas Rennpsort still cares for only BMW and Porsche cars for everyday services to full restorations. Our Technicians have the best, most up-to-date training so that we can properly care for all models from everyday drivers to Porsche’s rare 959s, and everything in between. We are trusted to care for cars from all over the world because we love BMW and Porsche vehicles and are precision craftsmen in our care for them.
Education is a high priority at Callas Rennsport, this includes for our Technicians and helping our clients understand the needs of their vehicle. We stay informed of current issues, technical information on all models, and require that our technicians attend training and technical classes on a regular basis.
We’re passionate about educating the BMW and Porsche community as well. Tony is the only independent Porsche instructor in the US and Canada, teaching Technicians proper Porsche diagnostic methods. We offer support to fellow independent shops and partner with local PCA chapters to host Tech sessions for the public to learn more about their Porsches.
